Student Mentorships, Research Assistantships, and Sub-Interns
The faculty of the Department of Neurological Surgery serve as advisors and mentors for students at the New Jersey Medical School, as well as students from other institutions. The department has a strong history of Sub-Intern training and welcome exceptional medical students interested in pursuing a career in Neurological Surgery to participate in the program. Each summer, the department hosts up to twelve undergraduate, graduate, and medical school students for funded and unfunded research assistantships. These assistantships are tailored to the interests and goals for the student and supervising faculty member. Many of these assistantships have led to publications or professional presentations for the participating students. For more information, or if you have interest, please contract our Director of Undergraduate Medical Education, Dr. Chirag Gandhi, MD, at 973-972-9626.
